About this work

Table with two square tops resting on four high legs. The four tapering legs are black-painted at the bottom and have a narrow band inlaid in a chequerboard pattern at the top. From the middle of the legs, four stretchers with wavy tops run down in a cross shape. The stretchers have a round hole in the middle and widen from there towards the top. On this rests a second table top with veneer squares and a border inlaid in a chequerboard pattern. The top is divided into twenty-five veneer squares with a round of mother-of-pearl at the intersections and a border inlaid in a chequerboard pattern.
