Spinner

The beggar is seated on a stump- or rock-like base and rests his hurdy-gurdy on his left thigh. His left hand plays the keys of his instrument, while his right hand cranks it. The man turns to the left while singing, while looking to the right. Between his legs lies a dog with crossed front paws. Notable are refined details such as buckles, buttons, and the holes and frays in his clothing. The figure consists of two parts: the figure itself and the base with the dog on it. The parts are attached to each other using rivets, one of which is missing, and a screw on the, completely hollow, inner side. On the bronze there are two weathered lacquer patinas. A black patina has been applied over a yellowish-red patina. On the hat, shoulders, back and knees, the patina is strongly worn. Under the bag and in the folds around the left knee and hip, some green oxidation is present.
