About this work

Evening gown of black crepe georgette and natural-colored, cotton machine-made lace, long and slightly trailing, decorated with gathered strips of crepe georgette. Model: straight with waist seam in the front center ending in a point. From the point, two smooth skirt panels with a front split containing pleated crepe georgette. One smooth back panel that tapers and ends in a box pleat. Half-length puffed sleeves ending in a tunnel with a gathered strip. Fastening in the left side seam by means of 14 metal hooks and silk thread ties. Lining of black silk, tapered and with a box pleat in the side seam. Decoration: the upper part of the bodice - with a V-neck in the front center and a low back - consists of machine-made lace. At the point of the V-neck, a bow of double black crêpe is placed. The lobed edge of the lace is laid over the crepe of the lower part of the bodice, creating a smooth transition.
