About this work

English horn (or alto oboe) of palmwood, mounted with ivory. Twelve brass keys and a brass ring for the cord. The third hole is double. Marked on the upper part: [L with a crown above] [probably added later] / [double-headed eagle] / S: KOCH / WIEN / [three stars] / INV: No. 5 [probably added later]. Marked on the middle part: [L with a crown above] [probably added later] / [double-headed eagle] / S: KOCH / No. 5 [probably added later]. Marked on the bell: [L with a crown above] [probably added later] / INV: No. 5 [probably added later] [double-headed eagle] / S: KOCH / WIEN / [three stars]. In original case, covered with leather on the outside and velvet on the inside. The case contains two crooks and an old reed.
