About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Old Flemish lace. Semicircular shells with irregular edges with in each shell a symmetrical pattern with a hanging flower, possibly a thistle or cornflower. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. In the longitudinal axis leaf-shaped shape stitches are applied in cutouts. The motifs are connected to each other by short overlapping pairs, a ground is missing. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge is finished with picots.
