Inkstand

The rectangular sheet, with folded-in corners, rests on four claw feet placed diagonally and has a raised, openwork semicircular curved edge. The sheet is divided by openwork partitions into three parts. Symmetrically distributed over the middle section are four marked places; in the front center a raised cylinder for goose quills, and at the back and at the ends circles are created using profiled edges. On these spots stand an inkwell, a sand shaker and a table bell. The bell has an inverted bell-shaped body and a handle built up from segments. Successively, an arched ring, a vase baluster, a recessed ring, a flat sphere and a jointed knob can be distinguished. The body is articulated by a spherical profile and two straight bands. The inkwell and the sand shaker each rest on a protruding, arched foot, have a spherical body and a hollow curved upper part; the inkwell is closed by a spherical lid with a smooth urn-shaped knob, the sand shaker by an openwork grate.
