About this work
Four-part boxwood flute with ivory rings and a silver key. This traverso was made in a low French baroque tuning (a < 400 Hz) and has the distinctive feature that mouth and finger holes have a larger diameter in the transverse direction than in the longitudinal direction. The foot is a modern reconstruction as a replacement for the missing original example. Stamp: T*LOT / [unbridled lion] (on head, upper and lower middle parts).
