About this work
Cast-iron fireplace plate depicting Esther bowing before King Ahasuerus, who rises from his throne and extends his scepter toward her. Behind Esther stand several maids and soldiers. Directly next to the throne stands Mordechai. In a view-through to the left rear, Haman is seen hanging on the gallows. The whole is topped with a trefoil shape and crowned with shell motifs and two dolphins.
