Collar of needle lace with a rose scallop edge

Collar of natural-colored needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. Half-circular model. The repeating pattern consists of a series of horizontal rose branches, each with two rosebuds on a stem and a leaf on either side. The rosebuds along the lower edge are larger. At the ends of the collar, an extra leaf with a rosebud is added to the pattern. The motifs are built up from festoon stitches and feature relief contours. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground, a mesh lace ground, scattered with dots. Decorative stitches are used in the flowers. The scalloped edge is formed by the larger rosebuds, alternated by a leaf, and continues into the short sides. The upper edge is finished straight.
