About this work

Doily of six sewn together strips of natural-colored bobbin lace. Square model with rounded corners, which on one side are made straight again with an inserted piece. Along this side the doily is finished with an openwork border with blocks that arise from double braids and along which a narrow border. The strips have the same repeating pattern of a loose diamond on the center line in a strip-filling pattern of smaller diamonds. The smaller diamonds are made in a net stitch, partly combined with linen stitch and surrounded by openwork borders. The large diamonds are made with a decorative ground, also surrounded by openwork borders. Top and bottom of the strips are finished straight.
