Shawl of natural-coloured mixed lace: Brussels lace. Triangular model. Along the three sides runs a broad, wavy border, surrounded by a border of alternating cup flowers and asymmetrical medallions of C-scrolls; the latter increase in size to the point of the back piece. The border consists of five bands, of which the middle one is filled with large wheels. On the wave crests stand bouquets of a very large lily and a poppy. In the field stand three bouquets, the middle, largest, is composed of poppies, umbellifers and spirea, the outer ones contain a poppy and lilacs. The ground is sown with fine scrolls (bobbin lace), which bound a border section sown with mosses. Numerous flower baskets and leaves are divided by the midrib into a bright white and a hazy ground. Point de gaze de Bruxelles.
