Strip of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a series of U-shaped double decorative borders. Above the border hangs a flower garland with leaves, flower buds and large hanging roses, always one rose in each U-shaped field. Below the borders hang two half rosettes alternating with a half wreath of leaves. The rosettes and half wreaths form the shell edges. The motifs are made in net stitch and are accentuated by contour threads. The motifs are connected by a lattice ground, a tulle ground. In the heart of the rose a decorative ground is applied, a rose ground. The shell edges are finished with picots. The top side of the strip is finished straight.
