About this work

Strip of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. On an open mesh ground, closed motifs are grouped separately. At the knots of the shells rise three symmetrical shield-shaped medallions, set within two pairs of C-scrolls. Above the shells appears a large flower cluster, above the medallions a small flower cluster, with broken petals as a crown. The inner edge is decorated with a chain of heart-shaped leaves.
