About this work
Strip of natural-coloured Brussels bobbin lace. A rivière in zigzag line is crossed by spiral vines enclosing fan-shaped medallions. The motifs are connected by a drochet ground. In the rivières a coarser hexagonal ground is applied. On the fields bounded by the rivière stand twigs with flowers in the form of pomegranates, pears or winged insects. The strip was presumably used or made for a jacket.
