About this work

Strip of natural-colored Brussels bobbin lace. A river in zigzag line is crossed by spiral vines, which enclose fan-shaped medallions. The motifs are connected by a drochel ground. In the rivers a coarser hexagonal ground is applied. On the fields bounded by the river stand twigs, to which flowers in the shape of pomegranates, pears or winged insects are attached. The strip is presumably used or made for attaching to a cap.
