About this work

Fan leaf of natural-coloured mixed lace: bobbin lace (duchesse lace) with inserts of appliqué lace (bobbin lace applied on machine-made tulle). Semi-circular. Symmetrical pattern of three large shell-shaped reserves (tulle), upon which scattered butterflies are applied. A border (bobbin lace) with plaited ground shows symmetrical, mutually intersecting stems with bunches of currants and hand-shaped leaves.
