Scarf of mixed lace with tulips

Scarf of natural-coloured mixed lace: Brussels bobbin lace with needlepoint ground, a fine net lace ground. This type of lace is also called point d'Angleterre. A rectangular shape shows at the ends a reserve with a gable turned inward. The contours of this symmetrical reserve consist of small c-scrolls, rocailles and oblique ovals. Inside stands a branch with tulips and a large palmette flower. Some scrolls and rocailles have needlepoint fillings. There is much relief of pearls. In the middle stands, symmetrical with respect to two axes, a pattern of five palmette flowers and four tulips on fine branches. Moreover the flowers and fine side twigs are decorated with pearls in thick relief. Decorative stitches of open lattice work, zigzag arrows and pearl strings.
