Cushion cover of appliqué lace of Queen Sophie

Pillowcase of natural-colored appliqué lace, needle lace - Brussels gauze lace - applied on machine-made tulle. In the center of a tulle rectangle stands, within a wreath, the oval coat of arms of Württemberg, held by a crowned climbing lion and a climbing stag and covered by a crowned helm. Under a blank ribbon are the large initials, S and W placed. The wreath is built up from a winding rose branch, interrupted by six standing oval medallions, which are covered by a dome with onion-shaped, pointed towards the center. A large oval center is cut out by the border, which consists of larger covered ovals and symmetrical branches; on the branches grow large roses, carnations, blossom branches and long, incised leaves. A soft pink satin border completes the pillowcase. The matching spread has almost the same pattern on a larger scale. The border is however cream-colored, with large cream bows.
