Shawl of appliqué lace, white bobbin lace - fine Brussels flowerwork - on black machine-made tulle. Rectangular model. The flowerwork consists in the central field of widely scattered flower branches and for the four scalloped edges from an ornament, standing against a bar ground. The ornament of the edge border shows neo-Rococo rocailles with small roses as knots of the scallops and roses, which with tendrils and leaves flow over onto the black ground.
