Iron with stand handle in the form of female herms

The object, internally weighted with a piece of cast iron, consists of an iron bolt, an ornamental plate and two cast handle parts of brass and a handle of beech wood. The bolt has a flap at the back that can be turned open and closed. On the bottom plate of the bolt, internally, an S-shaped piece of iron is forged, upon which the loose piece of iron lies. The ornamental plate has a cut-out and engraved decoration with, among other things, a crown, two birds, a double monogram JM and a heart. The two handle parts are built up from a curl that swings inward and is decorated with rocailles, which at the top of the bobin turns into the bust of a woman.
