Roemer with the capture of the city of Damietta

Conical foot drawn from a wire. Deeply sunk base. The stem, which is covered with five rows of blackberry knobs, is blown as one piece with the curved cup. A ribbed wire indicates the transition from the stem to the cup. In an oval medallion built up from volutes, the capture of the city of Damietta is engraved, represented by three ships before the city walls with a tower on which soldiers stand. On either side of the cartouche a clock hangs from a curling leaf vine. On the leaf vine sits a turtle. On the reverse side the City Maiden of Haarlem is depicted. At her right hand hangs a coat of arms with the new coat of arms of Haarlem, a standing sword with two six-pointed stars on either side of the lamb. She sits on a lion, whose head emerges to her left. In her left hand she holds a palm branch. Two floating putti hold a laurel wreath above her head.
