About this work
Cap, knitted with a ball of red silk with diamond-shaped, geometric ornaments of gold thread and a border of plain red silk. Knitted around with four or five needles. The gold thread is knitted together with the red silk. In the back middle a 'seam', where decreased. Knitted entirely straight. The decoration is on the ball, the turned-up 'border' is plain. The cap was most likely shaped by steaming and stretching, since hardly any stitches were increased or decreased to achieve the shape.
