About this work
Light conical foot, with a faceted star on the underside. Funnel-shaped, rounded and faceted bowl at the bottom, upon which, in a garland of flower vines coming from a cornucopia, a Hebrew text is engraved: "At the place of prayer you shall not see wine, except to make a distinction between holy and profane, and when a difficult student (U) finds the yoke heavy, then turn your eye to this (cup) filled with grape blood." Signed below the text d:. On the reverse side, in a shield-shaped cartouche of leafy vines (A gift out of love, Daniel to David Henriquez di Castro 1857).
