About this work

Fragment of a stoneware jug on a high foot with a cylindrical body and rounded shoulder. Neck and handle missing. Profiles on the body and foot. Covered with a brown engobe. On the belly in relief a stamped and applied band with arches. Under each arch is depicted an elector with his respective coat of arms, with his title in the arch. In the rightmost panel the date '1602'. The lower part of the belly slopes obliquely to the foot and is covered with incised panels. On the shoulder oval medallions with chip-carving and stamped rosettes in a diamond pattern. Raeren.
