About this work
Stoneware jug on a high foot with a globular body and a wide, ribbed neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Profiles on the foot. Covered with a brown engobe. On the belly in relief three stamped and applied medallions with a coat of arms. In the middle the crowned coat of arms of Amsterdam with the inscription 'AMSTER' and 'EE 85'. On either side of this the coat of arms of the d'Ombret family (Liège) with the border inscription 'IENDVR+POVR+DVRER+DEIDERRICH+DOMBRE+ANO:1589'. Raeren.
