About this work
Oval lidded basket of split willow, fine basketry. The lid was originally attached with two hinges and can be closed with one loop over an arch. Two handles are attached to the side of the basket. The lid is embroidered with a tulip motif in red and light green silk. Rings may have originally been attached to the lid.
