About this work
Alcove curtains, made of pink-red moiré silk, trimmed on all sides with passementerie with yellow and red tassels. The two very long rectangular curtains hang on a copper rod with nine copper rings; these rings are tied tightly together in the middle of the alcove arch by a red-yellow silk cord with tassels; a matching set of cords and tassels gather both curtains at the end of the rod in the corner of the alcove, and halfway down the hanging parts (at half the height of the alcove).
