About this work

Stoneware jug on a high foot with a globular belly and short, wide neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and belly. Some profiles and engraved lines on the foot and neck. On the front of the belly, a printed and applied medallion with a portrait of a rider with a dog and the incomplete inscription '[...]AR HEN FRISO PRIN'. A flowering plant surrounds the medallion. The leaf scrolls are engraved, and the flowers are printed and applied in relief. A tin mount with lid is attached to the handle. Westerwald.
