About this work
Cast-iron stove plate, consisting of two zones. Centrally in the upper zone is the Battle of Gibeon (Joshua 10: 1-27). In the foreground, four armed men in armor stand around a man lying on the ground. In the background, a man is led into a cave on the right and a man is hanged on a tree on the left. The lower zone is decorated with scrolling vine work. The plate has an opening at the top.
