About this work

Cast-iron stove plate, divided into two zones. Centrally in the upper zone stands King David, walking to the right, holding the head of Goliath in his right hand and a harp in his left. The lower zone features a face in a medallion surrounded by vines. Marked: next to David's head the initials G / NB and under David's feet the year 1660. The plate has an opening in the lower half and at the very top, for which a door can be hung using two hinges.
