About this work

Oak chest on sledge feet. The front panel has four large panels and a smaller one decorated with lettering in scale and twist stitch. The sides consist of flat boards, connected to the long panels by iron corner bands and fitted with twisted iron handles. The iron lock plate is decorated with flat-forged late Gothic foliage. The flat lid, attached to simple iron hinges, consists of two grooved boards. The ends of the sledge runners are carved with monster masks.
