Chest of walnut decorated with intarsia of various wood species and with an interior of poplar wood

Walnut chest decorated with intarsia of various woods and with a poplar interior. The front is decorated in intarsia with a border of braided diamond motifs and in the center with a strip depicting a repeating motif of buildings within a fortified wall with towers, with coats of arms on either side. The chest rests on diagonally placed ogival-shaped molded foot blocks. The sides carry iron handles.
