Purse of purple velvet, consisting of four flaps alternately embroidered with the crowned monogram 'DG' or 'ML' or two clasped hands under a burning heart, in multicoloured silk, gold thread, pearls, spangles and rubies

Purse of purple velvet, consisting of four panels on which alternately the crowned monogram 'DG' or 'ML' or two intertwined hands under a burning heart, embroidered with multicolored silk, gold thread, pearls, spangles and rubies. Model: each panel ends in a point and has five holes through which a cord of braided silk - ending in balls and acorns - is threaded. Lined with red silk; now faded to pink. Decoration: in the middle of each panel a shield at the top ending in a point and crowned with a floral ornament of (originally gilded?) silver cannetille, freshwater pearls and a ruby in the middle. At the bottom the shield extends into a point and the same lines form two curls in which a violet built up of (gilded?) silver cannetille, freshwater pearls and a ruby in the middle. In two shields under a crown with three points a monogram of freshwater pearls and gold thread is embroidered. The seams between the different panels are covered with a passementerie of braided gold thread.
