About this work

The central figure, wearing a mask, walks to the left towards a startled putto who falls backward and is caught by a third figure standing behind him. Behind the masked figure come two others: one playing a flute and the other carrying a jug. The putto on the far left holds a drapery, with a pan flute on the ground between his feet. In the background, a pentagram or Druid's foot.
