Above a sarcophagus with profiled top and bottom, on the left Nicodemus (?) holds Christ's body on a linen cloth, of which the head and part of the shoulders are missing. Behind the sarcophagus Mary, who holds the right arm of her son with both hands. Against Mary's left elbow remains of a hand (John?). To the right on the linen cloth a hand and a forearm (Joseph of Arimathea?). Mary wears a garment with neck cloth and a cloak over the head. The man with a beard wears a garment with short sleeves, trimmed with fur, over a long undergarment with long sleeves; over this a two-part garment, of which the sides of front and back panel have a flat binding edge and are held together by a clasp.
