Mountings of a missal binding

Ten brass mountings for a missal binding. The ten pieces were cut from copper sheet, chased, engraved, and stippled. A seven-faceted copper knob is riveted to each. They feature holes at the corners or along the edges for nails to secure them to the book cover. Four corner pieces have a turned-back edge on two sides; the other four have this only on the top or bottom (facing the book spine). Two sides of each corner piece are framed with an open border of cross-flowers. The central field is occupied by three stylized vines. The ornamentation on the center pieces features a plant with three leaves and two flowers in a pot at the corners, while the four sections between are filled with fantastic creatures.
