About this work
Manipel consisting of seven sewn-together fragments of yellow-on-red silk damask. The lengthwise stretched pattern shows intersecting, symmetrical wavy bands, one checkered, the other feathered. At the nodes, alternately a large palmette composed of chi-rho symbols and a small downward-pointing pomegranate. Two similar fragments belong to the manipel.
