About this work
Manipel consisting of five sewn-together fragments of yellow-on-red silk damask. The lengthwise pattern features intersecting, symmetrical wavy bands, one checkered, the other feathered. At the knots, alternating a large palmette composed of chi-signs and a small downward-pointing pomegranate. Two similar fragments belong to the manipel.
