Strip of Bobbin Lace with Standing Three-lobed Leaf and Hanging Fan Flower

Strip of black bobbin lace, Cluny lace. The repeating pattern consists of two symmetrical motifs that merge into each other: the space between two successive three-lobed leaves forms the two leaves between which a fan-shaped flower hangs down. The hanging flowers form the shell edge along the lower edge of the strip, with pointed shell pieces as petals at the bottom. The outline of the leaves is made in linen stitch. The three-lobed leaves and flower hearts are decorated with artificial stitches. The motifs are connected to each other by a plaited ground, decorated with picots. In the leaves next to the flower, a coarse tulle ground is applied as an ornamental ground. The upper side of the strip is finished straight.
