About this work
Strip of black bobbin lace, Cluny lace. The repeating pattern consists of an arch edge, where the arches also form the shells. In each arch alternately stands a branch with five leaves and a circle between spokes. The bands forming the arches are made in linen stitch. The circles inside are made in net stitch and the leaves on the branches are made in buttonhole stitch. The motifs are connected by a braided ground. Hanging along the bottom edge from each arch are three lobes, made with braids and finished with a few picots. The top edge of the strip is straight finished.
