About this work

Sample of natural-colored linen with lace embroidery: work with drawn threads. Square model. Study material. In one corner of the linen a openwork square with a square grid has arisen by drawing out threads in two directions. In one corner a beginning has been made with wrapping the threads that form the grid. The openwork square is finished with buttonhole stitches. The sample linen is finished with hems along which a narrow border of work with drawn threads is made. The sample is intended as an example of how this technique works. Belonging to the sample is a fragment made with fine linen that is well finished.
