About this work

Sample of natural-coloured bobbin lace with coarse thread as an example of a spider with twelve legs (the pointed oval motif), accompanied by a fragment of strop lace in which this technique is applied. In both examples a strop trellis ground is used and in the fragment the spiders stand around a diamond in net stitch. The dating concerns the sample.
