Strip of bobbin lace with flower under curved leaf

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of a twig with a curved leaf from which a flower hangs. The flower consists of five small circles worked in an ornamental ground, a rose ground, and a border with irregular lobes. Along the lower edge of the strip lies, between each successive flower, one small circle with a pair of lobes. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground, scattered with square dots. The very sparingly used solid work is worked in linen stitch, where the thicker and shiny contour threads predominate. The dots are worked in form stitch. The top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight, the bottom edge being provided with picots.
