About this work

Jug of stoneware on a high foot with a globular belly and a narrow neck that spreads slightly upwards with a pinched spout in the rim. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Partially covered with cobalt blue and manganese purple. Some incised lines in the foot and neck. The front of the belly with an incised decoration of three vertical lines and in the center a cut-out in a purple background of a leaf motif with a blue vein. On both sides of this, leafy garlands in blue. On the foot and neck, some blue lines. Westerwald.
