Monstrance

The object consists of parts that have been hammered, chased, cast or sawn. The foot and the stem are detachable, the upper part is soldered. On the foot, the raised and flat rims as well as the profiled closure towards the stem are brazed. In this closure is a round hole through which the pin, provided with a screw thread at the end, is inserted, which can be screwed tight with a nut cut like a four-leaf clover. This has on the other end a round plate that fits into the lower cylindrical mount and which is attached to the pin in such a way that a little bit protrudes for the placement of the lunula. Around this pin is inserted the hexagonal stem with a profiled rim on the side of the foot and with a similar rim on the side of the nodus. Upon this is placed the hollow nodus with a profiled rim on the top that fits exactly under the openings lying in line with each other, through which a pin can be riveted.
