About this work
She stands on a plinth-like base with her right leg forward, holding the naked child turned toward the viewer with her right hand, while with her left she holds his crossed legs. The Child holds with both hands a rosary hanging around him, from which a prayer knot hangs. Around her head Mary wears a wound pearl band, over the undergarment a gown with sleeves and a low rectangular neckline. The mantle, turned to the right, is held up under both arms.
