About this work
The fireplace has a white-veined, black artificial marble surround with free-standing Tuscan columns on pedestals, placed in front of flat pilasters and supporting consoles. The base and capital are of brown-veined white marble. Resting on the consoles is the fireplace mantel. The frieze carries an archway in the center and at the corners, within which the figures of Faith, Hope, and Charity are painted. The central cartouche above the archway bears the date 1626.
