About this work
Art cabinet veneered with ebony on an oak core. The doors and sides carry cornices. The top contains a storage space. Iron handles on the sides. When opened, the cabinet reveals a central portico of Tuscan colonettes and a capital with silver balusters. Flanking the portico are four drawers, with one above and one below. The inside of the doors, the drawers, the portico door and the lid are painted with scenes from the parable of the Prodigal Son.
