About this work
The cast round mortar widens towards the top, has a projecting profiled rim and a tapering profiled foot. On the rim in Latin capitals the inscription GERTKEN WLFFERS Ao 1605 with interpuncts consisting of a rhombus (four times). The upper frieze consists of a repetition of three flowers on stems in flat scale. The lower frieze consists of a repetition of a four-leaf rosette. Simple dolphin ears.
