About this work

Round lead plaque, surrounded by a leaf border. In the center in the foreground, Paulus falls from his horse, looking up at the heavenly vision in which Christ appears to him. To his right, figures on horseback, startled by the light. One of them hides behind his shield. On the left, a horse and a rider, cut off by the edge. In the middle distance, two men on rearing horses. In the background, a river landscape with trees, mountains, and buildings.
